Philip V. Howard is a partner in the Fort Myers office. He focuses his practice in the areas of Trust and Estate Litigation, Guardianship Litigation, Fiduciary Litigation, and Estate Planning. Philip has significant trial experience in the areas of inheritance disputes, fiduciary disputes, contested wills and trusts, guardianship disputes, elder exploitation injunctions and elder exploitation lawsuits and other contested probate matters. Although Philip focuses his practices on the 20th Judicial Circuit, that is Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Hendry, and Glades Counties, he has handled cases all over the state of Florida.
In addition to his trial practice, Philip has handled multiple appellate matters including multiple matters wherein he has argued cases in front of the Second District Court of Appeal.
He also has wide experience with respect to the administration of Guardianship, Probate, and Trusts. He has represented professional guardians, family members, and others in their fiduciary capacity as guardian, trustee, personal representative. He has also, himself, served as third party professional fiduciary to bring stability when families are in dispute.
He has served as a member of the board of directors, including the chairman of the board, at Southwest Florida Christian Academy. He has also served as a member of the board of directors of the SWFL Branch of the Florida State Guardianship Association.
