Hahn Loeser attorney Bryan Evans was joined by Ohio Supreme Court Justice Michael P. Donnelly and Judge J. Phil Calabrese of the Northern District of Ohio, as he hosted the Continuing Legal Education (CLE) presentation “Transparency in the Justice System — Promoting Public Confidence in the Judiciary,” at Saint Ignatius High School on December 5. The judges discussed ethical issues currently impacting the courts, including recent cases raising questions over the ethical behavior required of judges in criminal sentencing, the judiciary’s role in facilitating settlements between parties in civil cases, a judge’s role in guiding newer lawyers who appear before him or her, and the proper role, if any, of artificial intelligence in the courts.
