Hahn Loeser & Parks LLP is pleased to announce that Aubrie Knight Wancata has rejoined the Cleveland office in an Of Counsel position in the Firm’s Litigation Practice Area. Wancata represents businesses and individuals in a wide range of matters, including class action defense in all phases of litigation from discovery to trial strategy and appellate advocacy.

Wancata was an associate at Hahn Loeser from 2006 to 2014. Her experience includes litigation of breach of contract claims, business torts and fraud claims, and state and federal statutory violations. Wancata was part of a team that successfully defeated a $250 million punitive damage claim during a consumer class action jury trial.

Over a decade with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights, Wancata’s work spanned Title IX, Title VI, and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. As a senior attorney, she investigated complex discrimination matters in public school districts as well as post-secondary institutions, negotiated agreements regarding compliance, mediated complaints, reviewed policies and procedures, and trained district and post-secondary staff on compliance with federal anti-discrimination laws. Wancata also contributed to the comprehensive rewrite of the Title IX regulations in 2024.

A Northeast Ohio native, Wancata earned her J.D. from Cleveland State University College of Law, graduating summa cum laude. She received her B.A. from the University of Akron. Wancata has remained active in the Northeast Ohio community, including the Supreme Court of Ohio’s Lawyer to Lawyer mentoring program, the CSU Law Alumni Association Mentor Program and Theatre Agape, where she serves on its board of directors.
