The Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Foundation leadership transitioned to its new President, Hahn Loeser Partner Eric B. Levasseur, during the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association and Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Foundation’s 17th Annual Meeting at The Veranda at Lago. Immediate Past President Meredith C. Shoop of Huhtamaki Foodservice North America passed the Presidential Gavel to Levasseur as part of a celebration of awards and milestones held on the lakefront lawn.
The charitable fundraising arm of the CMBA, the CMBF raises critical dollars for the “Lawyers Giving Back” public outreach and pro bono legal services programs.
Levasseur has been a CMBA member since 2002 and has served on the CMBF’s Board of Directors since 2019. He is a long-standing volunteer for the Ohio and Cleveland Mock Trial Competitions, has chaired many of the Bar Foundation’s substantive and event committees and participates in the Fellows Program.
“It is an honor to serve as President of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Foundation and continue its rich legacy of charitable giving and dedicated service to the Cleveland community and beyond,” Levasseur said in his Statement of Presidential Priorities and Values.
“The Bar Foundation’s mission says it all – ‘Lawyers Giving Back.’ It is who we are and what we strive to do as a group on a daily basis: finding ways to utilize the many gifts all of us have been blessed to receive throughout our careers for the continued benefit of our broader community and those that can truly benefit from our time and talents. Whether it be through The 3RS, the Louis Stokes Scholars Program or any of the other myriad programs and initiatives funded through the Bar Foundation, our impact continues to grow on an annual basis.”
At Hahn Loeser, Levasseur is a commercial litigator and trial attorney representing clients in business disputes around the country. In addition to his client representation, he serves as the firm’s General Counsel.
