Hahn Loeser & Parks LLP is pleased to announce that Robert A. Cooper has been newly elected to the firm’s seven-member board of directors. In addition, Erica L. Calderas and Steven E. Feldman were both re-elected to the board. All will serve a four year term through June 30, 2021.
Cooper is a partner in the Fort Myers office and his practice focuses in all areas of real estate law, construction law, condominium and homeowners association law, lien and foreclose law, loan and financing transactions, commercial leasing, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate and business law.
Cooper formerly served as General Legal Counsel for a real estate development company specializing in the acquisition, design, development and construction of master-planned residential, commercial, high-rise and mixed-used communities, golf-course communities and commercial shopping centers in Southwest Florida and Northeast Ohio.
Cooper earned his J.D. magna cum laude from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and his B.A. cum laude from the University of Hartford, CT. His community involvement includes his participation on the Board of Directors for the Gulf Coast Humane Society in Fort Myers.
Calderas is a partner in the Cleveland Office where she has significant experience representing entities of varying size both as plaintiffs and as defendants in complex commercial actions and general litigation matters in state and federal trial and appellate courts. Litigation matters have involved a wide variety of legal topics impacting businesses such as business torts, contract disputes, consumer protection claims, employment disputes, fraud, enforcing and defending against claims regarding non-competition agreements, RESPA, TCPA, TILA, trade secrets, and trademark infringement. Calderas has had substantial first chair and second chair experience in jury trials, bench trials, arbitrations, mediations and appellate arguments.
Calderas was recently named one of Crain Cleveland’s 2017 Women of Note for her contributions to Northeast Ohio. She received her J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law and her A.B., with distinction in all subjects from Cornell University.
Feldman is the head of Hahn Loeser’s Intellectual Property Practice Area and the Partner-In-Charge of the Chicago office. He focuses his practice on complex intellectual property litigation, prosecution and counseling involving patents, trade secrets, trademarks and unfair competition, copyrights and associated licensing and due diligence, both domestically and internationally. A seasoned trial lawyer and patent attorney, Feldman has taken a lead role in trials, Markman hearings and appeals. Feldman also regularly supports clients on corporate transactions and due diligence and helps clients to build and manage strategic patent and trademark portfolios worldwide.
A nationally recognized leader in intellectual property matters, Feldman is a frequent lecturer and also is a member of the George Washington University Intellectual Property Advisory Board and the Northwestern University Institute for Sustainable Energy Executive Counsel
Feldman earned his J.D., with honors, from George Washington University Law School and his B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from Northwestern University.
