Home Professionals Christopher S. Baxter
Christopher S. Baxter is Of Counsel in the Litigation Area and Construction and Insolvency practice groups. Christopher’s practice includes work on a variety of construction related matters and business insolvency, including receiverships, and commercial litigation in state and federal courts throughout the country. His representation focuses on owners, developers, contractors, sureties, debtors, creditors, and lenders.
Prior to joining Hahn Loeser & Parks LLP, Christopher practiced at an AM-100 law firm and completed a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Charles M. Caldwell (Ret.), who served as the Chief Judge of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Ohio.
Christopher’s attention to detail and solid understanding of the laws governing bankruptcy, enables him to advise clients to meet their goals and find the most cost-effective solution to resolve bankruptcy disputes and other litigation.
Christopher recently secured a $3.4M arbitration award for his client, a building owner, who claimed breach of contract against the building’s general contractor. Christopher’s client replaced the entire “skin” of the building because it persistently leaked for more than five years after completion. Christopher successfully defended against the general contractor’s counter claim for breach of contract (improper termination), and defenses of spoliation and economic waste.
Christopher was recognized in Best Lawyers in America®, Ones to Watch, for work in bankruptcy, creditor and debtor’s rights, insolvency, and reorganization law, 2021-24.
